Nativity

I'm having the hardest time getting things done this year.  This was supposed to be done on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.

I don't even remember what we did that day.  I think we made the sugar cookies.

Then, a couple of days later, we made the gingerbread.

Then, everything sat on the kitchen counter with many admonishments to children Not To Touch the stable pieces or They Would Break.

Finally, Sunday, while all the boys were out at Columbian Squires with Dad, LP and I started frosting cookies.  (Nothing like frosting cookies with too many people to ruin the Holiday Mood!  I figured we'd have all the colors together and LP would be finished with her share by the time the boys got home to help.)

They must be getting older, because they hardly fought at all.  And I think they Turned Out Beautifully!

  1. The nativity came from a set of cookie cutters that a friend loaned me. I think Catholic Child might carry them.

  2. It turned out beautiful Sara!!!

I also planned to make this with my children on the 8th, but they ended up making one at my friend Marci's since I was out running around all day.

We still plan to make our own sometime, but I'm not sure when... I purchased our cookie cutter set from Magic Cabin a few months ago when they had it on clearance (it's made by Fox Run), but Amazon also carries it as well.

P.S. I've been meaning to write and thank you for the lovely contribution to the quilt for the baby!!! That was so very sweet of you all! God bless!

  3. Oh, boy! I fear those would all be licked clean by Christmas in my house. If not by the kids, then the dog (although I don't think the dog would stop with licking!). You guys did a fabulous job. That really tops a Gingerbread house!
