Did You Ever Wonder...

~~~who these people are who find time to blog on the weekends? I'm always amazed at the number of posts there are to read. I mean, I'm busy cleaning my house and running errands all day on Saturday, not to mention all day laundry, so I can have a day of rest on Sunday. Reading all the blogs cuts into my Saturday. And on Sunday, I'm busy resting and spending time with my family. I'm not usually in the mood for blogging.
~~~who these people are who find time to blog several times during the week? I'm always amazed at the number of posts there are to read. Reading all of them cuts into my homeschool time!

~~~why everyone is panicked by the swine flu, excuse me, I mean the H1N1 virus? I don't know if that's what Hitch had. KT is sick now, too. She's sounded awful, but she didn't want to come home. Flu, swine or not, is part of the human existence. I know it's bad for people with chronic illnesses, the very old and the very young, but the vast majority of people don't need to panic. I'm sure lots of people have a lot to say on the subject, but I've never been one for extreme measures.
~~~why no one wants to be around me? You didn't? Whew! I'm glad of that! Actually, they don't want to be around me because I'm still in the incubation period for this flu-bug. I had to cancel a meeting today for American Heritage Girls and I've been asked not to come to the regular meeting on Thursday, sick or not. See what I mean? Now, I don't mind at all; I'm not offended, but if I weren't showing any symptoms I might be a little more annoyed.

~~~who Betsy, Tacy, and Tib are? If you're a girl, or you have a tween-aged girl, let me know if you're in the dark! Maud Hart Lovelace's beautiful Betsy-Tacy high school books are being re-released this month. Book-Club Girl is giving some away to people who want to convert others, and I'll be getting one to give away. I think that's pretty trusting of them to believe I'll give it away and not keep it. However, I ordered my own copies earlier in the summer, and I can't wait to get them!
~~~who these people are who blog when their children are starving for lunch? Nope, me neither, but I have to run now....and fix lunch!

  1. Sorry, but I am one of those who are panicked by the thought of the flu. I have heard story after story of perfectly healthy people dying from it. Young people, middle aged people. I know a lot of people die from seasonal flu, but it seems they are either elderly or very young and die from complications. The stories I hear are about people who just die from the flu. I think it's scary.

  2. PS I hope KT is better. Maybe she will change her mind and come home if she feels worse.
