Behold, The Happiest Skirt in the World which the Fashionista picked up at a thrift store this summer.  It was much tighter in the waist than she expected, and she wanted me to fix it.

It sat, and sat, and sat, and sat, for a long time while I decided what to do with it.  It seemed way beyond my skills...until I read that I could just cut the zipper, instead of replacing it!  I was very leery of doing too much to it since the fabric is crepe with a lining.  Very slippery to work with.

So, I simply cut off the waistband, and another inch, down to where the skirt would fit around her waist.  Then it sat, and sat, and sat, and sat, for a couple months more....until I realized I could just buy bias tape to finish the waistband!

It was pretty simple after all.  And....excellent blogger that I am....I have absolutely no pictures of her wearing it to work/school, which she did just yesterday.
