Yarn Along

You'd think after a long, holiday weekend that I'd have something to contribute here, but I don't.

I finished my sock, and I'm still working on my cowl.  And Second Sock Syndrome rears it's ugly head:  I have absolutely no desire to cast on that other sock!
Don't you love the sun shining on that?

I think I've added one more repeat!
I don't have any firm plans to knit anything else specific, unless maybe this top for myself that I've had in the queue for a while!  That, and a trip to the local yarn shop for fun with with a friend.  Maybe I'll find something for that sweater!

Question for you:

What do you like to knit in the summer?  Socks?  Summer clothing?  I guess I lean toward smaller items because I don't want a lapful of wool, but what about you?

As for reading, I'm reading a mishmash of things.  Rereading the Outlander series because it's always entertaining, and at our Book Club this week, we'll be discussing Baby Catcher at long last.  Then the next book is Water for Elephants, which I hear is really good.  I also have on hold at the library Confessions of a Prairie B**** by Allison Arngrim who played Nellie Oleson in Little House on the Prairie.

well, I thought I would knit something summer-ish in summer :D (this is my first knitting summer so I had no idea what I'll do) but I wouldn't knit socks - for suure - because I know I wouldn't have to patience to start the second one and knit basically the same thing over again - good luck with your second sock :D

I've actually re-started my old crocheting project - which will - hopefully - end up as a sweater and started to knit my first cabled sweater ever :D - so nothing for summer...

but in last weeks yarn-along I've posted a picture of my summer-vest (knitted with HUGE needles and cotton and it really is great for summer :) I've been wearing it all the time :)

  2. I'm still knitting dishcloths and pot holders. They are quick and small and not wool, but with the potholder you do have to knit two identical. ;-)

Water for Elephants is good except for one chapter which you will hopefully see coming and skip. Totally yuck! I just started Forgotten Garden which Ginny just finished -- very good!

  4. I like knitting small projects like shawls and socks in the summer.

I once tried to knit a sweater. Never will do something that stupid again!
